Guys buy chocolates for two reasons: For a date, or to apologize. I doubt you were apologizing. Why admit you had to buy chocolates to apologize?

... having confidence and being cocky are two different things. If you're confident, you don't need to brag about it. You just exude it. You're striking me as more the latter.
