[Anyone over 30 is old.] Dojima-san must be different because he has a kid then.

Huh? Isn't it better to be open about that kind of thing?

[Isn't it obvious.] A baked good or anything else that is dessert like with alcohol. Since alcohol is for adults.

[Blake misses other cops. There's something about guys you can swap war stories with, who've seen the same things you have and who aren't hair monitors with green hair.

He waves his hand in front of his face.] That sort of thing is private information. You don't go announcing it to some damn stranger.

[Well that's a relief.] Oh. Is that all?

[If that's youthful, she's a baby.] Yeah. A detective.

[She pouts before smirking.] Old people are such sticks in the mud. Maybe if you were more open, you wouldn't look so grumpy.

[She nods.] Yeah. What did you think they were?

How do you know a detective? [Two ideas come to mind: either she's been involved in an investigation, or more likely, going by how she said he had a kid, that kid's a friend of hers.

For a second, he looks like he's going to gt angry. He doesn't need some teenage girl giving him shit. Then his expression changes to something you might call wistful, if it was on somebody 20 years younger and 50 percent less of a bitter bastard.] Funny thing. I've heard that from somebody a couple times before.

[His face aims for innocent] Doesn't matter.

I was kidnapped and almost killed, and Souji's uncle was the detective on my case. He and Adachi-san interviewed me because I had a stalker in town. He wasn't the one who kidnapped me. The stalker. I didn't become friends with Dojima-san's nephew until after Souji saved me. [Both. Definitely both.] One of the other detectives on the case wound up being an actual killer. But not Dojima-san! Adachi-san!

[That's a long explanation, but it sums it up, right? Her smirk turns to a mischievous smile.] Maybe that means it's the truth?

[She huffs.] Hey! Were you thinking they were doing perverted things, like prostitution? Because Killua-san is a kid. Why would he do something like that?

[It's a good thing the cop in him is used to stories that are basically a chain of unfamiliar names and crimes.]

Jesus, kid. That's the cheerfulest way I've ever heard a teenager talk about multiple felonies.

[He looks disturbed, though. Something she said has darkened his mood.]

I wouldn't know.

[He shakes his head distractedly.] Nah, just thought it was one of those where there's cakes shaped like stuff.

Really? Well, I didn't die, and neither did my friends, so it's not a big deal, right? We caught the killer!

[She can tell there's a mood change, so she won't press it anymore.

Instead she laughs and shakes her head.] No! We have Pokémon shaped items, but no human body parts. Besides, I'm too young to work at a place like that! It'd ruin my image anyways~

[He shakes his head.] A fucking policeman. What the hell ever happened to the world?

[There used to be things you could rely on.

Cakes are an easier subject, though his heart's not quite in it anymore.] Good. Those places were damn stupid to begin with.

[Who the hell wants to eat a dick cake?]

He killed people out of boredom. [She does sound angry when she says that.]

Hey, not everyone's a prude. There's plenty of people who like things like that. [She sighs and shakes her head.] I just think they look dumb. Why would I want a cake shaped like anything other than a cake?

Christ. [When he meets her eye there's something dangerous and nasty there.] I hope he fried for it.

[He looks a little more sane when he walks it back a little and says,] Yeah. Nothing wrong with a regular damn cake.

No.. he's still in jail... They don't have a death penalty in Japan.

[This guy definitely tried too hard to be macho.] Well, we have tons of them if you want to try some~

[There's a grating harshness to his voice.] They should've made an exception. A cop who turns on his people is a special kind of scumbag.

[You know he's macho and secure because he goes out of his way to tell you so.]

I'm just glad we were able to save so many people...

[That's kind of depressing.]

[Something in Blake's expression, still angry, goes distant.]

Yeah. It makes a difference if you can save somebody. That's what cops are supposed to do. It's not supposed to be a job left to teenagers.

Sometimes you need the eyes and ear of someone younger! Yeah, Dojima-san yelled at us, but we saved his daughter. He was grateful for that.

[She has a very content smile on her face.]

Nanako-chan is a brave little girl, and she's got a good dad.

[His voice is odd, as if he barely hears himself.] You can't be that pissed at somebody who saves your kid.

A cop trying to kill a little girl because he's bored. Christ.

If... if Adachi-san somehow winds up here, I hope he's miserable.

[Then she looks determined.] If he causes problems, I'll take him down myself!

[Blake's expression focuses and darkens.]

If he shows up, just give me the word and five minutes.

[You can't always take your grudges out on the people you'd like to, but you take what you can get.]

Eh? But I don't even know your name. How would I know who to call?

[Why do people keep offering to help her if she needs it? This is like the third person...]
