[Here's an irritated looking idol on the network. She's bundled up in a white parka with matching pants, a pink scarf, and some earmuffs that look like Cleffa's. Rise is pouting at the screen.]

So much for my summer at the beach! First it's way too hot, then it wouldn't stop storming, and now snow? This isn't funny! All I wanted was a easy trip to Olivine, but no, I've been stuck here in Ecruteak the whole time!

[She turns her gear around to show an Empoleon, Oshawott, Meowstic, and a Sylveon playing in the snow. All but the Empoleon were wearing some kind of winter gear made for Pokémon.]

At least these guys are having fun... Does anyone know how to make hot chocolate that's safe for Pokémon? I think they'd like that after they're done playing.

[Chihiro had gotten accustomed to the fact that the weather was probably just going to be bad for the remainder of the month, but...snow was not something he'd been expecting, for sure. And while it is tempting to just stay indoors, when he sees Rise's video appear on the Network he decides to head outside to meet her. While he didn't actually pack much that was well suited for the cold, he's wrapped up in one of his Leavanny's own hand-knitted scarves. While it is...not very easy on the eyes, it's warm, at least.

He walks side-by-side with his hands buried in his Arcanine's fur which seems to be keeping him warm in the frigid air in spite of his typing. Wherever he steps in the snow he leaves a massive and slightly melted paw print in his wake. His Linoone trots just behind them, diving headfirst into small snow drifts every now and then before burrowing out and finding another one to jump into.]

There you are, Rise-san. Have you been out here all morning?

[Rise turns around, nodding.]

Yeah! They insisted on it. And since I never unpacked my winter gear... well, I came prepared.

[This girl will need to spend a while going through her backpack when she gets to Goldenrod. Who knows what else is in there!]

Are you keeping warm with your Pokémon? I tried not to be too noisy when I went outside with these guys. They all were super excited to join me.

[She looks down as her Oshawott came over, wanting to be picked up to be warmed up. Rise complies by picking her up and holding her close.]

But I think Ume is saying it's about time to go inside. W-We didn't exactly have breakfast before coming outside...

I'm okay. Hogosha is very warm.

[The Arcanine lets out a friendly rumble in the back of his throat at the mention of his name, turning his head to give Chihiro's cheek a long lick. He giggles, lifting a hand to wipe at his face as he looks over at the rest of Rise's Pokemon.]

That's probably a good idea, though. I'm sure it will only get colder as the day goes on, if it keeps snowing like this...

Do you think another swarm of Pokemon caused all of this snow?

He really does look warm... I should have brought one of my fire types out of the box. Either Hikaru or Hikari.

[Rise nods, looking to her other Pokémon.]

Come on, guys! It's time to go get warmed up. I don't want to test if Pokémon get frostbite.

[With a long sigh, Rise shrugs and shakes her head.]

Whatever cased this is a pain in the neck. I wasn't expecting to be able t go skiing for at leas another three months. This is way too different from what I'm used to, honestly.

It is a lot of snow...and right in the middle of August, too.

[It's a little bizarre, to say the least. He's lucky that he thought to bring his Arcanine on the trip, though it was mostly out of coincidence since he has his stronger Pokemon with him right now for the sake of easy traveling on the routes.]

Maybe it won't stay around for very long, though. It might end up melting pretty quickly, if the sun comes out.

I'm used to rain and fog in August... I thought it'd only snow in the mountains this late in summer.

[Whereas she just brought her usual and some of those she was training up.]

I hope so... but what if it floods?

Oh...I hope not. That would be terrible.

[He hadn't thought of that.]

Did it flood at all during all of that rain, though? It didn't here that I know of, but I suppose it could have elsewhere...

[Though, if things had gotten that bad, he figures somebody on the Network would have said something about it.]

Maybe these places handle it better? I know in Inaba we lived on a flood plain, so they built a lot of ditch type things to alleviate that. Else we'd never get anywhere when it was raining!

[They have to. So many Pokémon can use weather type moves. And who knows how many battles have gotten really wet in some of towns.]

That makes sense! I'm sure it isn't such a big deal here, since there are so many Pokemon who can deal with extreme conditions.

[He figures that most natives- and even non-natives- are well used to how weird the weather can get here sometimes, anyway.

He smiles a little and looks up at Rise as they start to head back, still keeping close to Hogosha's side.]

As strange as it is, though, the snow isn't that bad. It was really hot there, for a while.

[She's not at the level of being used to weird weather. Maybe if she stays here a few years.

She nods, smiling herself as Ume starts drifting off in her arms.]

Yeah. I feel bad for using the AC so much, but it was too hot to even go outside... I could have stayed inside all that time if it wasn't for food.

Maybe that just means that we're going to get cooler weather sooner this year?

[Chihiro supplies, gently stroking a hand through the fur around Hogosha's neck as Isamu scampers up next to him, shaking snow briskly from his fur.]

I wouldn't mind that, even if it does decide to keep snowing for the next few days.

Do you think their heaters work well here? Or should we just huddle up in one room for now? I can always switch out one of my Pokémon and bring Hikaru out. He's a Ninetails, and warm just like Hogosha.

[A cuddle pile of warm Pokémon wounds wonderful.]

Mm...I'm sure the heaters work fine, depending on how willing the people working at the hotel are to let everyone start using the heating.

[They have a good reason to, at least...]

That's a good idea, too. We wouldn't even need to worry about heaters, then!

Then let's swing by the center. I can take out Hikari, too. I haven't used her for battling yet, but Flareon's are so cute!

[She has way too many Eeveelutions. She left the rest in Goldenrod at the Honeyed Souls shop.]

Okay! I'll get Henko, too. I'm sure she would appreciate the company.

[His own Flareon has been with him pretty much since he got here, usually spending her time keeping an eye on the Eevee horde back home.]

[Hikari was sadly left to her by a friend who left. Along with five other Eevee's and Eeveelutions. It keeps happening that way.]

Y-Yeah. Hikari likes being around fire types more. Than others.

[Chihiro slows a little once they start to get near the Center. The doors seem to be sliding open on a regular basis as trainer after trainer goes inside to seek refuge from the cold.]

It's the same for mine. ...how many Pokemon do you have now, Rise-san?

I've got twenty-four. Mostly Eeveelutions...

[She laughs nervously.] I guess those are my trademark Pokémon now!

There's nothing wrong with that. I've been trying to get them all, myself...so far I have Flareon, Leafeon, and Glaceon.

Hmm... I have a Leafeon, Glaceon, Espeon, Umbreon, Sylveon, Flareon, Vaporeon... I'm missing Jolteon. Else I'd have them all.

[She looks a bit sad. It's still somewhat depressing to have all of them.]

[He wants to comment on how impressive that is, but before he does he catches her expression and thinks better of it.]

Mm...I'm sure they all enjoy each other's company, don't they?

... I actually had to give one of my Umbreon and a Sylveon away to friends. They didn't get along well with the others. Nanako couldn't get the reason out of them. I'm hoping that they're doing better with their new trainers.

[She's never had that problem before.]

[Ah...]

Oh...I'm sorry to hear that. Sometimes, some Pokemon just don't play well together, for whatever reason...but I'm sure they're doing well, wherever they are now.

I'll ask Phoenix and Serah the next time I talk to them. They're the ones taking care of them right now. They're really nice people. I think you'd like Serah. She's smart and cute~

I see...I'd like to meet her sometime, if I get the chance.

[He says with a smile as they step into the Center, the sound of people bustling through droning on in the background. As expected, it's pretty crowded today.]
