[The screen pops on, and there's a worried looking Rise with a shiny Eevee in her arms. The Eevee looks sad as well.]

I found this little guy in my box this morning. Seems he came from Labrys-san... Does this mean she's gone now? Jin is really sad, and even Himiko can't help him. She's a Sylveon now, but she can't get him to feel better.

Do Pokémon take a long time to get over the disappearance of their trainers like a human would? Or is it different for them?

[She's really, really worried. And sad. She was hoping to get to know Labrys better.]

[Being inside the Dojo all the time to practice was wearing her out. The commercial she was preparing for was a lot more intensive than she thought it would be. She was definitely out of practice.

So since it's Sunday, she decides it would be a perfect day to go out and about. Time to look for more people she knows! Practicing bit into a good chunk of the time she was here, so not a lot of exploring had been done.

If anyone is walking around Goldenrod, you'll see Rise walking around with a sad Eevee in her arms, Himiko the Sylveon at her side, and Nanako the Meowstic on her other side. Nanako is the only one of the four who doesn't seem all too perturbed with Labrys being gone. She was getting better at dancing. That's all that mattered to her.]

Do you think we'll find ni-chan today?

[Before Kaneki has the chance to answer, two little arms appear over the lip of the candle holder as a little face in the candle smiles up at Rise. He gurgles happily, the flame atop his head glowing a bit brighter.]

Yes! This is Phantom.

[Rikki, meanwhile, opens one eye when she feels something sit next to her. She rolls her eyes a little, grunting a bit in response before lying her head back down on her claws again.]

Oh! So that's a Litwick? It's kinda cute...

[She'd pat Phantom's head, but she's afraid she'd burn her hand.]

He really looks like a little candle. Pokémon are pretty amazing sometimes.

[Himiko expected that reaction. You're silly, friend. As if on cue, the Umbreon joins Himiko and stares at Rikki.]

[If nothing else, Phantom seems happy enough just...well, being there, even though physical affection is a little harder to come by for him than with Kaneki's other Pokemon.]

He does. He's my reading light, usually...he likes to read books with me, too, it seems. He'll look over my shoulder at them from the shelf.

[Uuuuuuuuuuuuuugh more company. Rikki's trying to be on her best behavior though, if only because she knows Kaneki will return her if she makes a scene in the middle of the cafe.]

[She blinks as she looks at Kaneki.]

Your Pokémon read, too? I taught Himiko and Nanako to read.

[Rise pets the Umbreon, who is more than happy to be paid attention to.]

I want to see if Chiisai and Jin want to learn as well. Oh! This Umbreon's trainer left the same day Labrys-san did... I got quite a few of Momo-kun's Pokémon...

[Rise looks sad again. Himiko comes over and does her best to be a comfort.]

Phantom seems to have just picked it up on his own, though I'm not sure how much he really understands. I've been teaching Hide how to read and write, though.

[Kaneki looks over at the Umbreon while Rise explains, holding out his hand for the Pokemon to sniff if he wants.]

Oh...two trainers left on the same day?

I don't think any of mine but Nanako could ever write.

[Paws and all.]

Yeah. That I know of. There may have been more. There's also been a whole bunch of new people, too.

[Chiisai hesitates before approaching Kaneki. She sniffs his hand and her ears twitch. Okay, he's not a bad human.]

Hide's always painting with his tail, so I figured he would enjoy learning how to write as well.

[Now he just needs to actually be a little less...messy with it.]

I see. I'm sorry to hear that so many people you know left.

[It's strange...someone he knows- ...or knew, apparently- just recently arrived. Did that mean that sometimes people left as others came in?]

That sounds like something Ahiru might do, but with her bill.

[She gives him a small smile.]

I just hope they get home safe.

I'm sure they probably will.

[From what he knows, they should go right back home to where they came from before. ...hopefully their situation isn't a bad one.

Phantom turns to Kaneki after he says that, tapping the inner side of the candle holder before pointing at him. Forgetting something?]

O-oh, right- um...would you like some coffee, Rise-san?

I wish I could message them...

[Rise looks over at Phantom as well. Whatever he was doing, it was cute.

She blinks a few times. Oh, right!]

I would! Though I think I'll go ahead and pay for it. I'd like some things for my Pokémon as well, after all~

[She's not hurting for money with her job.]

[Kaneki pauses as he's standing up from the table, reaching into the pocket of his apron to pull out a notepad and a pen.]

Oh, are you sure? I...I really wouldn't mind treating you, if you'd allow it.

If my Pokémon weren't with me, I'd say yes. But... Himiko eats a lot.

[Himiko makes no move or sound to deny this. She grabs the first menu she finds and looks through it with Chiisai.]

She can get expensive really fast...

Well...alright. This cafe sells a lot of different pastries that are safe for Pokemon to eat. They're made with different kinds of berries, I think. They might like to try those.

Chiisai seems to eat just about anything. Himiko likes spicy... and I don't know about Jin. He refused anything sweet, so maybe something plain or bitter?

[Rise looks down at the menu to what Himiko was pointing at on the menu.]

Yeah, we can get that. That's a good variety, so there'll be something for everyone~

[She takes the menu and points at a few different things.]

[Kaneki nods and quickly gets everything written down.]

Okay, I'll be back with your orders in a few minutes. Rikki, don't go anywhere.

[He gets a huff in reply as he walks off. It isn't very long until he returns with a tray in hand with several different colored bowls containing the pastries filled with different berries for Rise's Pokemon. The different colors of the bowls seem to indicate what berries were put in them, and one by one Kaneki places them on the floor near the table.

Once that's done, he turns to Rise and places a coffee-cup on a small dish in front of her.]

[It's a latte, as promised, with an Eevee drawn in the foam on top.]

[Rise gasps when she spots the Eevee in the foam.]

Wow, Kaneki-kun! That's so cute! You're really talented~

[Himiko looks sternly at Chiisai before poking Rikki with one of her feelers. She does this as an invitation to Rikki that she could have some of their food. Being nice was always good.

Jin, meanwhile, moves in Rise's lap enough to look down at the food. Rise gives him a small smile before depositing him gently between Himiko and Chiisai.]

Even if it's only a little, you should eat!

Ah...thank you. I've been practicing, so I'm glad it looks okay.

[He sits down just as Rikki starts growling lowly in response to being touched, to which Kaneki moves to nudge her gently in the side with the toe of his foot.]

Be nice. They're not bothering you.

[Rise is tempted not to drink it. Instead she whips out her gear and takes a picture before sipping it.]

It's good~

[Rise looks under the table as her Pokémon back away from Rikki.]

She's not very friendly, is she? I'm sorry, Rikki. Himiko likes to make friends.

[Kaneki takes a seat with a sigh, resting his chin in his palm.]

I'm sorry...she doesn't get along well with other Pokemon. She hasn't since I met her.

Aw... I don't have any Pokémon like that. They're all pretty friendly. Well... Himiko can get very unfriendly now that she's a Sylveon. I guess she can tell what people are feeling? Now Nanako..... Nanako doesn't like any guys who get to close to me. I don't know why, really.

[Possessive Pokémon are strange to Rise.]

Mm...that's how Rikki is, actually. Though, gender doesn't seem to matter...she doesn't like much of anyone.

[There's more growling at that, but the Zangoose doesn't get up. He isn't....wrong, at least.]

It is kind of sweet. She loves you so much she wants to protect you!

[Rise is hoping she's never mauled anyone.]

[Not yet, thank god. Though she nearly broke his Gear trying to kill a Seviper through it, once.]

Yeah...I guess you're right. I mean, I really don't mind that she wants to look out for me...and I do appreciate it, but it's just a little...too much, sometimes.

Well, yeah, it could be. Especially if you ever wanted to get a girlfriend. She'd have to be willing to put up with Rikki...

[She couldn't do it. Then again, she doesn't feel that way about Kaneki.]

Y-yeah...I don't think I'll have to worry about that...any time soon, though.

[He's not really looking for a relationship anyway...but he knows that if he was, Rikki would make it impossible.]
