[The screen pops on, and there's a worried looking Rise with a shiny Eevee in her arms. The Eevee looks sad as well.]

I found this little guy in my box this morning. Seems he came from Labrys-san... Does this mean she's gone now? Jin is really sad, and even Himiko can't help him. She's a Sylveon now, but she can't get him to feel better.

Do Pokémon take a long time to get over the disappearance of their trainers like a human would? Or is it different for them?

[She's really, really worried. And sad. She was hoping to get to know Labrys better.]

[Being inside the Dojo all the time to practice was wearing her out. The commercial she was preparing for was a lot more intensive than she thought it would be. She was definitely out of practice.

So since it's Sunday, she decides it would be a perfect day to go out and about. Time to look for more people she knows! Practicing bit into a good chunk of the time she was here, so not a lot of exploring had been done.

If anyone is walking around Goldenrod, you'll see Rise walking around with a sad Eevee in her arms, Himiko the Sylveon at her side, and Nanako the Meowstic on her other side. Nanako is the only one of the four who doesn't seem all too perturbed with Labrys being gone. She was getting better at dancing. That's all that mattered to her.]

Do you think we'll find ni-chan today?

It's good that he ended up with you. He won't be alone now, at least.

[He...feels like that probably isn't the most tactful thing he could have said, given the circumstance, but he's not sure what else to say. So, he continues, quickly.]

M...maybe you should just...keep him out with you, for a little while. It might help him feel better.

When the trainers leave, what happens to them if they don't go to a trainer?

[She hugs Jin closer.]

I will. He needs all the love he can get!

I'm not sure. I was told that there used to be a sort of shelter for Pokemon without homes running here...but it isn't in business anymore.

[Action]

[Micchy's out and about, too. He's got his Lucario out, who seems to be trying to communicate something via gestures to Micchy, and he shakes his head.]

No. It's fine, really, I -

[He pauses as he sees Rise, and his Lucario gestures again but he waves him off.]

Not now.

[He calls out to Rise and heads towards her, a faint smile on his face.]

Rise-san!

[Action]

[Rise had been lost in thought as she held her new little friend as close as she could. She barely registers a voice until she looks up.]

M-Micchy!

[She forces a small smile while Himiko goes right up to Micchy and pats his arm with one of her ribbons.]

How are you?

[Action]

[He glances at Himiko and gently pats her ribbon, trying not to be too weirded out. Isamu inclines his head slightly at Rise and then her Pokemon in greeting.]

Ah, I'm all right. I was heading out to do some shopping... what about you?

I got the dratini I sold her back too. So... yeah, looks like it.

It's so sad she couldn't say goodbye... I hope all of her Pokémon went to a good home.

[Said dratini, Poro, trills softly from his shoulder. He misses Jin]

Usually, if you're receiving Pokemon that belonged to someone else...it means they're gone, yes.

A few of mine did when I left here the first time, don't worry. They get taken care of, one way or another.

I have two pokémon from someone who's gone ... I think they're mostly okay. But it's been a while.

They were really sad and confused but I think if you give them lots of attention they cheer up pretty quickly.

I hope so. He doesn't want to leave my side, so I've been carrying him everywhere. He seems content with that.

Well, then he has you. Instead of trying to be alone or anything, I mean.

...It depends. Pokemon seem to have feelings and experience them the exact way that humans do--some adapt better to their trainers being gone and understand that their new trainer is there for them, others...don't really.

[She still has a Banette from someone that left who might want to strangle her.]

Your Meowstic could probably talk to Jin for you, so you can understand each other better.

[She looks down at Jin, who just lays there with no movement other than his breathing.]

Oh... I didn't even think of asking Nanako... I should ask her. I do want to understand how he feels to see if I can help cheer him up, or even just make him feel a little better...

I'm sorry your friend left, and I'm sorry that Jin has to suffer for her leaving. Pokemon are our companions and friends in this whole thing, even down to the sad times. You're not always going to know what to do when your Pokemon is sad, like when a human friend is sad, but as long as you're sincere and open with them, I think they'll understand.

[Ringabel just so happens to be on the prowl as well, having finished his shift at the Game Corner. He's still dressed up in his uniform, a rather snazzy getup befitting a waiter.

Pleased with his work, he hums to himself, stopping every now and then to greet passing women with a smile. It's then that he overhears Rise and promptly saunters her way.]

You never know. Perhaps he's closer than you think.

[Rise gasps and perks up. This is who she was trying to find her whole time here! Finally!]

Ni-chan! There you are!

[Himiko recognizes him from the network and bounces right over to him. Hi!]

[Aww, how cute. Well, he'll crouch down so he can pet her. Seems she's changed quite a bit since their first meeting!]

Were you looking for me this whole time?

[If so, then he really should have gotten in touch with her! Alas, work's a bit time consuming, and his mind's been... focused on more pressing thoughts.]

Even if they're not human, Pokemon seem to have just as many emotions and experiences like we do.

Losing someone important to them... It probably takes a while for them just as it would for any other person. Or they might try to move on very quickly.

It seems like it's dependent on the Pokemon.

That makes sense... the others I got from a friend who left aren't as sad as Jin. Might it be because he's so young?

Trainers are our friends. We eventually will get over their leaving, but we know that usually they're still living, just in their home worlds. It takes just as long to get over as it would for any friend that has gone away somehow, and sometimes longer. The more we love our trainers the harder it is to have them leave. Snake left once and I'm still afraid he'll leave again, says John.

[Is... that... a snake talking? Or is the guy a ventriloquist? Wait... no, that can't happen. How to handle this...]

R-Right... So... Jin really must have loved Labrys-san.
